This program is for athletes who are interested in Freeskiing or Freestyle. At this point, athletes may have a preference for a particular event and can begin to specialize. Committed athletes at this level should consider Waterville Valley Academy

Freestyle Disciplines 

 Moguls

The WVBBTS Freestyle Mogul Program is designed for skiers who want to master the sport of mogul skiing. Skiers compete in the Eastern Championship Series (A’s) and have the opportunity to qualify for Junior Nationals, U.S. Championships, the FIS Nor-Am tour, and Junior World Championships. Waterville Valley Resort has a long history of freestyle skiing and has hosted several US Nationals and World Cup-level events in recent years. WVBBTS has placed many athletes on the U.S. Ski Team including Olympic gold medalist Hannah Kearney. Come train on the best mogul courses, and work with the best coaches.

WVBBTS Weekend Program Moguls Skiers will work closely with athletes and staff from WVA, including at competitions.

Freestyle Disciplines

Freeski

Slopestyle focuses on park skiing, hitting jumps, going off rails, etc. Athletes will compete in USASA rail jams and slopestyle events throughout the season. “A” level athletes can qualify for FIS and Nor-Am level competitions.

Big Air

Recently added as an Olympic Event, The event requires athletes to throw their biggest tricks off a single, large jump. Athletes are scored on their best single jump in the qualification round. In the final, they are scored on their best two jumps out of three. 

Half Pipe

An x-games and Olympic event, the half-pipe is freeskiing most known event. While there are few half pipes on the east coast, "A" level skiers have the opportunity to train and compete in pipe in western competitions. 


WVABBTS Snowboard Weekend Program

The WVABBTS Snowboard Weekend Program offers riders of all levels an exciting, structured two-day experience focused on skill development, mountain safety, and fun. Participants receive professional coaching from certified instructors who tailor lessons to individual goals. From mastering basic turns to tackling advanced freestyle or freeride techniques. The program blends on-snow training, group camaraderie, and guided practice sessions to help riders progress confidently while enjoying the mountain environment. Perfect for weekend warriors looking to improve their skills and connect with a passionate snowboarding community.
